Qualifications
Every Los Santos officer is held to the same baseline. Review the standards below before you open a recruitment ticket so you know exactly what command is looking for.
Age & Out-of-Character Maturity
Applicants must be at least sixteen years old out-of-character. The badge carries authority in every scene, and we expect a level head on the radio, patience during long calls, and the good judgment to know when a situation needs words instead of force.
Community Standing
Your history across the BluelightRP community matters. We look for players in good standing, free of active bans or unresolved reports. Old mistakes that were owned and corrected will not end an application on their own, but an honest account of them is required.
Availability & Commitment
A realistic pledge of a few active patrols each week keeps your skills sharp and the city covered. We value steady, dependable presence over marathon sessions, and command works with players whose real-life schedules shift from month to month.
Communication
Clear microphone audio and confident voice roleplay are non-negotiable. Officers coordinate constantly, so you should be comfortable calling locations, requesting backup, and de-escalating a scene before it ever becomes a use-of-force report.
Background Standards
What We Measure You Against
Recruiters weigh six areas during your background review. Each one rewards honest, grounded roleplay and flags the conduct that keeps an application from moving forward.

Interpersonal Skills
- Treats residents, suspects, and fellow officers with the same baseline respect.
- Reads the tone of a scene and adjusts approach before tension escalates.
- Works cleanly inside a unit, sharing information instead of hoarding the spotlight.
Examples of Potentially Disqualifying Conduct
- A pattern of hostile or dismissive conduct toward other players in Discord or in-character.
- Repeatedly ignoring backup or freelancing away from an assigned unit during scenes.

Decision Making
- Weighs risk to bystanders before committing to a pursuit or a stack.
- Chooses the lowest reasonable level of force that resolves the scene.
- Explains the reasoning behind a call when a supervisor asks for it.
Examples of Potentially Disqualifying Conduct
- A recent history of reckless pursuits or shooting decisions that endanger the scene.
- Consistently defaulting to force when de-escalation was clearly available.

Maturity & Discipline
- Stays in character and composed even when a scene is loud or going badly.
- Follows the chain of command without needing to be told twice.
- Owns a mistake in the debrief rather than deflecting it onto teammates.
Examples of Potentially Disqualifying Conduct
- Breaking character to argue rules mid-scene instead of using proper channels.
- Repeated failure-to-roleplay strikes or refusing lawful direction from command.

Honesty & Integrity
- Writes reports and radio traffic that match what actually happened.
- Reports one's own errors before anyone else has to find them.
- Keeps out-of-character advantages out of in-character decisions.
Examples of Potentially Disqualifying Conduct
- Falsifying an application, backstory, or reference from a previous server.
- Any confirmed metagaming, stream-sniping, or exploiting on record in the community.

Setting & Achieving Goals
- Shows up to training and follows through on scheduled commitments.
- Seeks feedback from field training officers and acts on it.
- Builds toward a specialty or leadership track with a clear plan.
Examples of Potentially Disqualifying Conduct
- Signing up for academy slots or events and repeatedly failing to appear.
- Ignoring corrective feedback across multiple ride-alongs without any change.

Record Check
- Maintains a clean moderation history across BluelightRP servers.
- Resolves any open reports honestly before applying.
- Completes Discord verification so command can confirm your standing.
Examples of Potentially Disqualifying Conduct
- An active moderation ban or unresolved player report at the time of application.
- Being under the minimum age or unwilling to complete community verification.
Hiring Process
Every recruit moves through the same seven checkpoints. Clear one and you advance to the next until the badge is yours.
